Default How do you reward yourself?

On previous diets, when I hit a mini-goal I would celebrate with some forbidden foods as a reward. A crazy contradiction.

On the Atkins WOE, I do not have the urge to splurge on forbidden food because so much good food is allowed. In other words, cheating with bad foods has lost its appeal as a reward.

I am wondering what other ways are you guys rewarding yourself when you hit a goal?

Well at his point, I still feel my reward is the weight I have taken off. If I do choose to reward myself, it will for sure, not be with food!!!!

Cheers Kathy

I rewarded myself this weekend with a smaller pair of jeans from Salvation Army. Yes they are used and cheap but it felt like a reward buying a size I have not worn since high school!

being overweight, it can be difficult to feel attractive. i decided makeup wasn't going to hide my derriere, so i didn't bother. but after i lose 5 more lbs, i'm going to purchase some Aveda make-up. (i've had a friend apply the perfect shades on me- im looking forward to losing those 5 lbs!)

You're right about the reward NOT being food related... but BODY related...YES!! Reinforce that good feeling!

I like the spa treatment...a massage, facial...whatever the budget will allow for the mini-goals. For the big, final goal...I like the cruise idea!!

Last cruise I went on, I came back 2 pounds lighter... even with the midnight buffet!

I saved my reward until after I'd been at goal weight for a month, just to make sure I was treating low-carbing as a WOL. Then, on a hot day, I went for an ice cream cone at my favorite place. It tasted great, but gave me indigestion later on. The universe has an ironic sense of humor.

But when my fat clothes started to fall off of me, I had to buy some new stuff, as well as wear some older, skinny stuff. That, plus the pleasure of having my appearance match my internal standard of how I ought to look, has been a daily reward.

I've decided to go ahead and get contacts again. That was going to be my award for reaching goal, but I'm doing it now because the timing is right. I figure it's my reward for reaching 50%! Now I have to think of a new one for goal! Another constant reward has been my improved energy level and I'm actually able to run with my kids and feel positive about myself.
