Well, the cookies turned out to be not such a problem after all. When we were at the grocery store this morning, I thought I bought everything I needed (basically, I was out of walnuts and flour -- walnuts because I eat them, and flour because I don't).
As soon as I got home, I realized I didn't have any shortening! I can't even remember the last time I had shortening in the house. Sometimes I make baking powder biscuits as a treat, so I buy only the itty bitty cans.
Is there a shortening substitute out there that isn't full of trans-fats? I really don't think I can substitute butter in this recipe, but maybe. It only calls for 1/2 cup. Think I should try it?
Hey, Elaine! What did you think of the hairstyles I picked out? Can't stop laughing, huh?
I kinda like the "Lisa Rinna" look (quite sexy, if you ask me). I just don't know if my hair would actually do that. It's quite fine, and I don't have tons of it. I also like the one called "Timeless classic," which is actually close to the way I wear it now, but not quite so "piecey" and it's not quite that long. I also like the "Layered Rusky," though it is a bit punk!
Your picks were interesting, but it would take me forever to grow it out that long! You must be thinking of some of the pics Orang has made of me. Those had quite long hair!
It's interesting, though. I tried long, short, and medium hair, and curly, wavy, and straight. In the long styles, my face looked fat and dragged down. The wavy and curly ones looked too fussy on me. The short ones (but not the shortest) looked the best.
You guys should try it. It's really fun! You, too, Rob! They have men's cuts also. Ever wonder what you would look like with Brad Pitt's haircut?
Rob, while I have your attention, can you give me some measurements on the sour cream, etc. in those two dishes you mentioned? I gotta say, they sound a little odd, but then they might be wonderful!
