LOL!! I usually carry some homemade beef jerky in those little half sized ziploc baggies in my purse Co-workers who are not LCing think I am nuts but I don't have the option of hitting the vending machines at the hospitals like they do!

No way. Those things are loaded with sodium, chemicals and hidden sugars. Slim Jims are even worse, I think I rememebr reading at least 2 kinds of sugars in the ingredient list.

I will admit to carrying around Morning Start bars in the diaper bag for being stuck at mall or other palces I couldn't eat. Also 1 shake.

Other good things to carry around in ziplocks can be
A single serving quiche piece
Macadamia nuts after induction
String cheese
sugar free beef jerkey (hard to find)

pepperoni is my bad food. I buy the presliced ones and I love them. I arearely eat any food with nitrites except for that.

I dont carry pepperoni in my purse but I do carry sring cheese (and I actually sit there enjoying the pulling it apart into strings like a dork lol) I also carry raw almonds or raw macadamia nuts in baggies and a liter of water.

I also keep an advantage bar in the car in case of an emergency.
