Default Lucked out at a wedding shower

I attended a wedding shower that started at 10:30. I made sure I had a good breakfast, just in case the food they were serving would not be for my WOE. A very pleasant surprise - they served a buffet brunch........yipee. Had a delicious omelet with bacon, mushrooms and cheese. And as a treat I had 7 beautiful red raspberries, 7 blueberries and 1 piece of fresh pineapple. I helped cut the cake and served it, but I wasn't tempted to try it, cause I knew it was pure sugar..........must have had 3 inches of frosting on it.

You were prepared for the worst - good going! Resisting the temptations is a hard thing to do sometimes, but you came through with flying colors. Congrats!

Wow good job on two things. One, you were prepared. Two, you didn't have the cake, and didn' even want it! Congratulations

Default Big pat on the back for ya, Mattsgram!

There is a group of us at work that go out to eat lunch every Wednesday. We usually go to a different restaurant every week and we don't decide which restaurant until right before we walk out of the office (bunch of big planners!). I've started taking a salad to work with me and I eat it at my desk before we take off for lunch. I only started planning this well when we ended up at an Italian restaurant one Wednesday and the ONLY thing on the menu that I could eat was stuffed mushrooms. I LOVE stuffed mushrooms but those mushrooms were nasty! Now, since I have some food in my stomach and I'm not starving, I have the option of ordering lasagna and digging the meat and cheese out from between the layers of noodles (yes, I actually did this at a business luncheon I attended and with no apologies given to anyone). I also managed not to take a bite of a piece of magnificent cheesecake that was served at that luncheon for dessert. I did, however, eat the sliced strawberry and three blueberries that were served on the plate as decoration.

I'm allergic to carbs.......they make me break out in fat!
