Default Questions re: Trader Joe's Products

Hi,

I have questions re: two different Trader Joe's products.

1) The LC ravioli (chicken/sausage variety): I purchased this, but have it in my fridge unused because I'm not sure how to prepare it. Should I simply boil it (as the package indicates) and serve it with some LC spaghetti sauce? I welcome suggestions. Has anyone tried this product?

2) I read that the Bella Vita pasta was good and tried the Rigatoni tonight. It was the typical yucko LC pasta. Then I re-checked this board and found out that only the Penne Rigate is recommended. I want to make sure I've understood this right. Just want some input.

Thanks!

I haven't seen the ravioli but they sound like they'd be good with regular tomato sauce or some butter and sage.

On the Bella Vita, it's true - only the Penne rigate is any good.

Don't care for the pasta, but the Bella Vita pasta sauce is very good. Trader Joes frozen meatballs cook up very nice as well.

So that's what happened with my pasta! I had tried the penne rigate first and it was okay (as long as you don't overcook it). I then got the shells or some other one and it was crummy. I really don't understand since it should be made of the same stuff. But maybe they have to alter the ratio of ingredients just a touch to get a different shape. Guess I'll go back to the penne rigate next time I need pasta.
