Unhappy Induction doesn't seem to be working

I started Induction on September 22 and lost about 5 lbs during the first couple of days. But then, things just seemed to stop. I started to ride my exercise bike 20 minutes per night. I've stayed under 20 carbs per day and I am drinking my water. What's happening?

You've lost 5lbs in 8 days, what do you mean it's not working? You will not lose weight every day! You didn't put on all that weight overnight, & it's unreasonable to expect to lose it that way. This is not a fast fix; you must be patient & stick with it. Most people lose 10% of their goal on Induction, for you that would be 7lbs, so you're right on track. Perhaps you shouldn't weigh yourself daily if you're easily discouraged, weigh once a week. Don't expect to lose every week or you will be disappointed. Take measurements too, often we lose inches indepently of pounds- this will help keep you motivated. Drink your water, count your carbs, take supplements, stay active, be patient, & stick with it. We're all here to help. Good luck!
God Bless,

Kim,

Amy's absolutely right. I lost almost half of my total weight loss during induction... now, it's a pound a week, maybe two, maybe none.

My advice to you is this: Read Dr. Atkins' book. Only then will you understand how and why this WOE works. Everyone is individual. And have patience... you won't be disappointed!
