Default Success Story - Whoo Hhoo!!

Well, it was weigh and measure day, today.

My results are great! Over the last 3 weeks, I've lost 13 lbs. and 8.5 inches!!. I've also lost 3% body fat!!!

My husband is right alongside, having lost 10 lbs. and 3 inches on his big belly, along with a few other places, plus a loss of 4% body fat!!

Both of us are already looking like smaller versions of our former fat selves, AND DOES IT FEEL GOOD!!! I'm getting into smaller clothes and my hubby says I look 'hubba hubba' Hee hee hee!

Atkins is an awesome WOE. We've enjoyed such great food on this plan. Scallop and shrimp and crab all dipped in drawn butter - barbequed porterhouse steaks and teriyaki chicken....life's never been so good! I don't even miss all the pepsi I used to drink - go figure - and this from a former 'pepsiholic'! I find it hard to eat all of my dinner. I'm just full by that time of the day - just like Dr. Atkins said. Must be all that water...

And my ENERGY!! That took a good two weeks, but considering I've had a fatigue problem for a long time...I feel GRRRRRREAT!!! as Tony the Tiger would say - ha ha ha . Having some energy to get things done has been a life altering experience for me. I despaired of ever being able to clean my house the way I wanted to, or to even work or start the business I always dreamed of. I truly believe sugar was poison to me, and I have all the proof I need that this way of eating has created a major turnaround for many of my health problems. I've been exercising moderately every day, except the weekend. I've just started adding some pilates strength training with stretch bands...I think this is better for me than free weights, as I have a bad back. Bad back or not, I walk tall and proudly around the track every morning after I drop my husband off at work. Last week I added running up and down a few stairs between laps to get my heartrate up!! I'm adding just small increments of exercise and putting a lot of focus on stretching. I'm in this for the long haul, and I'm rehabilitating myself nice and slowly, which is what will work for me. I'm very proud of my husband and myself. We're doing it. And I don't feel deprived one bit!

I can't say enough about this program, all the available information and products, along with this forum where I've learned so much from such nice people.

I'm just at the beginning, but I want to encourage anyone considering this program that IT WORKS, if you are willing to work it. As I tell my husband, "I shop and chop a lot" LOL! but I'd rather spend extra time in grocery stores reading labels, along with all the other errands I get done now with my new-found energy, then lying on my couch all day with fatigue and feeling hopeless.

I'm grateful there's a place like this where I can share my success on this wonderful life plan.

The bad news is - I haven't been here a lot lately. The good news is I haven't been here a lot lately...
...because I'm finally getting a life! Yippeee!!

Every question I asked, I was given an answer to, and it made it possible for me to work this program to my best advantage. Thanks to everyone for all your great tips.

/Maddy

Wow! You're such an inspiration!

Now about that water...
How much do you drink a day?

You and your husband are doing great! You have such a positive attitude. I loved the line "IT WORKS, if you are willing to work it.", that sums up the Atkins experience quite well.

Thanks, everyone. I appreciate the responses.

BTW: I drink at least 96 oz. of water a day (I have a 24 oz. bottle I guzzle all day long). I drink at least 4, if not more, filled bottles a day (filled from the sink, of course - I don't need the fancy stuff).

:-)
