Cool Question...hidden carb counter

I used the hidden carb counter today to see about this cheese i have that claims zero carbs...i ended up with a -6.84. Does that mean it is zero? They do have a note about negative numbers...something about a neg number if something is under 9 but it never says if we ignore the negative and make it 6.84 or if it's negative make it zero.

Hoping it is zero...
Lynn

Lindsey, I am not sure about the -6.84. But I can safely tell you that there are cabs in all cheeses. The only things w/o carbs are very lean cuts of meat and fats (butter, oil etc). Everything else will have carbs to some degree. Cheese is usually low per serving - especially if it is creamy. With labeling laws the way they are in the US, manufacturers can get away with listing 0 carbs on a product if a suggested serving has less than 1g of carbs. This could mean your serving has .1g or .9g or anywhere in between. The amount adds up when you have a number of 'suggested servings'.
