Default UK newbie....hellooooooo! :)

Heyyy everyone!

Just wanted to introduce myself to my fellow "UK people"..... i finally had the courage to introduce myself in the newbie section after reading this site for over 6 months...so thought i'd say hellooooooo over here too!

So to introduce myself...my name is Reena...i live in london where i am a medical student....i've tried lowcarbing twice before (really helped with my type 1 diabetes and just felt great....although i did miss some of the sweeties!)....and i'm starting on my third attempt from tomorrow....i've started a journal which includes all my goals....

I find the low carb lifestyle is still picking up on this side of the world....and i hope people become more aware as time goes on so there are more products and services available to us.....but in the meantime i hope we can all support eachother here....and i really look forward to getting to know all of you.....

Hello to you too!

I really hope it goes well for you . My experience is that I do not get hungry and I only miss the sweeties in theory, rather than crave (and eat) them. I am losing weight very slowly. No exercise and being older, I suppose. However I remain feeling very well and utterly convinced that this is the way that I should eat. I have high cholesterol, and recently had another test. Bless my old seaboots!! My level has dropped!!
It will be interesting for you to see whether the complexity of cholesterol and insulin is made clear in your training, or whether you have to stick to the party line about what always constitutes a healthy diet for everyone.

Stay in touch.
It's a great bulletin board isn't it? There is a section for students. Have you found it?

Thumbs up Welcome

Hi Reena

I'm glad that you stopped lurking, said hello and started a journal. Every success with low carbing, like Lucy, it makes perfect sense to me now and I know that I have got to eat like this for the rest of my life.

If you have been lurking for 6 months you should have picked up lots of helpful tips and information and now that you have started a journal this will hopefully motivate you to keep going.

Every success and I look forward to reading about your progress in your journal.

Hi Reena

Welcome on board. Glad you've stopped lurking in the background. You probably know your way around the site already and I'm sure you'll find loads of information and tips.

Good luck with your weightloss.
