Default Dumb question about Atkins Induction Phase

I was reading the "And Away You Go: The Induction Phase" chapter of Atkins (pg. 129 in the paperback version) where he says, "To add variety, each day you can also eat 10 - 20 olives, half a small avocade, one ounce of sour cream or 3 ounces of heavy cream, as well as 2-3 Tbs. of lemon or lime juice."

Ummm... does that mean you can choose ONE of those options to add to your plan per day. (It's the "as well as" phrase that makes this unclear to me). Surely he can't mean that you can add ALL those options in one day, correct?

You'd never believe I made it through grad school, would you?

It is a good question!

I'm sure he means add one in a day for variety, they add up in carbs if you count them

Yep, you can eat 'em all! If you only eat 2 cups salad and 1 cup other vegies, that's not really very much at all.

Try adding up all of those carbs somewhere like www.fitday.com and you'll find they come to no more than 20g.

Happy low carbing.

The fats in these foods are good for you. He means you can eat them daily - all of them, if you want - just count the carbs. (In other words, Rosebud is correct.)
