Question fruit

I am trying to follow the Aitkins diet, I have been trying to cut out all sugars from my diet. I have even cut down on the sugarfree sweets I have been having lately. But I do crave sweet things. How bad is fruit. I have had strawberries a couple of times, a quarter of an apple (which I found too sweet) and tonight I had some tinned peaches (<10g carbs) with cream. I do miss fruit especially bananas, which I know are a definite no-no. Will fruit stop me from going into ketosis? I don't have it everyday maybe 1 or 2 times a week.

Thanks Cheryl

Look at it this way Cheryl. You have a certain amount of "carb dollars" to spend everyday in the "carb bank". If you have 30 to spend, that's what you can spend.

What to watch out for is if the fruit causes you to crave more fruit and sweet things, and if you are doing it too frequently at the expense of feeling satified because you can't have a meal that includes vegetables.
