Question confused on carb count

Ok I read the atkins book and I'm still confused( I think it's a guy thing!),yesterday in the store I saw some adkins bars which read 22 grams of carbs, but further down the label it said only count this for 3 carbs?? What's the story on that.Next in the book it has a list of foods that eat you can eat all you want,i.e.meat,fish,poultry.On the next page it shows the vegetables. Are you not supposed to be eating those vegetables??Are they you want? Is lettuce ok?

are you still on induction? because if you are, i wouldn't recommend eating them at all. they make me crave carbs a lot more than if i just abstain from them.

Net carbs=total carbs-fiber. Fiber is not converted to blood sugar. You count the carbs that affect blood sugar while doing Atkins. You want to avoid spikes. If you haven't read the book, and it sounds like you haven't, read it & it will explain that and so much more. The New Diet Revolution is a sound investment if you want to do the program correctly, and understand why things are designed the way they are. It's easy to read and a good reference guide. I hope this helps you a little until you can do some reading. Good luck.
God Bless,
Amy-Lynne

You can eat 3 cups of salad vegetables listed in the first page, and if you want to eat the other vegetables listed on the next page, you can have 2/3 cups of it but reduce your salad to 2 cups. Having said that, I don't even follow that rule. I just eat 20g. of carbs a day, mostly from vegetables. Sometimes I eat 5 cups of veggies, sometimes I only eat 2. It just depends on what else I'm eating that has carbs like cheese and mayo and eggs and so on. I wouldn't eat the bars until after induction though. I ate some atkins endulge bars yesterday and was glued to the toilet for hours!
