Bacon wrapped chicken livers
One of my favorite things to eat is bacon and waterchestnuts with this sticky sweet brown sugar sauce that is far from low carb.
I was thinking about it though and remembered once eating chicken livers wrapped in bacon and waterchestnuts and it wasnt bad.
8 slices of bacon, halved
1lb chicken livers, halved (might also go well with goose liver...yum!)
1 6oz can of whole water chestnuts, drained and halved
2 tbsp olive oil
Lay bacon slices flat. Place chicken livers and wather chstnuts on top of it. Roll up and secure with a toothpick.
Heat oil in a frying pan, add the roll ups and cook till bacon is browned.
Eat. :-)
I also like baking these in the oven but the pan is much faster.
