Unhappy motivation

Hi everyone.

I am starting atkins over. Had a rough couple of months. My mom passed away may 23rd and I have been kinda walking around like a zombie. She was 64. I am only 46 so that is really bothing me. She died of ovarian cancer.

I realized I need to get my health together and et right and exercise. I kept saying to my husband I was going to start Atkins again but I just couldn't do it. This time it is for keeps.

If anyone has any encouragement for me it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Laurie

Sorry to hear about your mom, my mother was diagnosed w/ breast cancer 2 weeks ago. I refuse to let this disease sabotage me and my hard work. You are right, you need to take your health into your own hands. Let this BE the reason you do it this time, this is your excuse to lose...not gain.

This board is here for you and will support you!!

I am sorry that you have lost your mom. I won't tell you that I know how you are feeling, because I don't, but I do have an idea. My mom died 8/2/2001 and my only child on 5/8/2000. Grief is a process - read everything you can on it. Knowing the stages of grief doesn't keep you from experiencing it, but you know that it will get somehow better.

Laurie: I'm so sorry to hear about your Mom - she would want you to be strong and healthy now. Grieving is a very personal thing and takes some longer than others to adjust. My mother has breast cancer and while she was going through surgery and chemo, all I wanted to do was eat and drink badly, but I resisted - I needed to stay strong - you need something else to focus on and something now to do just for you. You've been through a rough few months - do it for yourself and your family. God bless.

Vikki
