Atkins on Vacation
I have been on the Atkins diet since 2-1-02. I have lost a little over 20 pounds and am very pleased with my results. As of today, I have not cheated or strayed from the diet. In other words, I strictly followed the induction phase and have since slowly increased my carb intake to about 40 carbs a day. Never, since the start of the program have I exceeded 40 carbs a day. However, I am going on a weeklong vacation soon, and am considering the option of indulging a little. I am not planning on abandoning my new way of life altogether, but I might have a desert or two.
How is this going to affect my short term weight loss?
Should I expect for the extra carbs to cause me to immediately gain weight?
Will I have to go through induction to get back to ketosis after vacation?
If the extra carbs cause a weight gain, can I offset it with a little extra exercise?
Any info would be appreciated.
