Question What can I eat??

Hi all,

I am starting Atkins for the second time, it was very effective the first time round but i found it hard to stick to because of lack of choice. I'm not very well suited to this diet as i don't like red meat, fish, mayonnaise or anythng creamy, but i'm giving it another go as nothing else works! So i'm looking for any suggestions, especially for lunches to take to work (no cooking facilities there but i do have a fridge). Also breakfast things - i can't face another egg

Thanks + good luck!

Becky

You might want to check out the recipes section and look at people's journals to see what they eat. You can eat chicken and soy "meat" in place of red meat and use olive oil and vinegar in place of mayonaise. It is only really restrictive the first two weeks, after all.

You might also want to look at some of the other low carb options. Atkins is not the only choice. You might do better on Sugar busters or Sommersizing. Check out the "Which low carb plan is right for me" link to the right. Something else might be better suited to your dietary preferences.

Default need variety?

I used to be in the same boat, until I really started researching recipes. There are so many that are easy to make and taste wonderful. Try your local health store and check out their low car section. I go and buy low carb tortillas, bread, ice cream, muffins, pancake mix, syrup, hot chocolate, pasta/pasta sauce etc. There is alot to choose from. Now that my sense of taste has changed, I find I really like most of the products. I even tried Chocolate Soy milk and liked it. All I can say is to do some research. Once I found the tortilla shells which are only 3 gm , I fill them with eggs, cheese and salsa for breakfast and make chicken quesadillas sometimes for dinner.(which are awesome btw) There are so many ways to substitute so don't give up. Low carbing really is a wonderful way of eating!
