Hi Dena,

I think your carb count will be 4. 7 minus 3g fibre.

The hidden carb counter is only useful if there are "hidden" carbs such as sugar alcohols. These are sometimes not included in the nutritional information on the product label.

If you remember that 1g fat has approx 9 calories, and each g protein and carbs has approx 4 cals, you can estimate that there are no hidden carbs in your product.
4 x 4 = 16 (carbs)
4 x 5 = 20 (protein)
9 x 0.5 - 4.5 (fat)
Total cals = 40.5 - close enough to 35.

So, no hidden carbs, just a carb count of 4.

HTH

So there are only 1.7 grams effective carbs? NO WAY!!!! I will be a happy camper if that is true. This information is for bread...REAL bread. Aunt Millies light whole grain bread. Wow, I need to start running everything through the hidden carbs counter. I thought the ecc was 4, but 1.7 is so much better. Thanks!

No, sorry, Dena, the carb count is 4.

I didn't mean 4 point 7 minus 3. I meant 4. (7 minus 3)
And further on I thought I'd made it clear by showing the little sum and finishing by saying, "So, no hidden carbs, just a carb count of 4."

Sorry about the confusion. It's still a fairly low carb count for bread.

OK, I got it now! Thanks so much for all of your help-at 4 grams per slice this will be my bread of choice! I plan to post a thread letting everyone know about the carb count (did not want to be wrong). Thanks again!
