Angry Yikes! Car Accident

Hi all--sorry I haven't been around. I haven't yet checked my journal, but I know from e-mail that someone has probably been looking for me.

After women's retreat and Grand Canyon visits, I was in a bad car accident. My new (2001) car is totalled--I was hit right on the driver's side, hard. My mom says God had a protective bubble around me...the doctor's can't believe nothing is broken. I had a concussion and had to stay at mom's for several days. I'm bumped and bruised and scraped and sore...but thankfully that appears to be all.

At the retreat and Grand Canyon I managed to stay on this WOE. Surprise encouragement from my aunt who came out from MI....she was LC-ing too! But she'd given it up for the trip. She's retired and they are spending two months travelling around country to see her 4 kids, friends, and other family members (like me). She said it was too much to expect everyone to change what food they serve in their homes for her. But she was encouraged by my sticking to it while we were together

Unfortunately, after the accident I had to stay at my mom's and at first was really queasy---all I could stand the thought of eating was crackers. Then, of course, she made all those wonderfully starchy and sugary mom things that are comforting. Yikes

Today is my first day back home and first day back to this WOL. Wish me luck. I'm off work until at least Thursday--doctor's orders, so I hope to spend some of that time catching up with you all. I missed you all and could hardly wait to get back to your smilies and encouragement.

Firespirit,

I'm so glad you weren't more seriously hurt. Concussion & soft tissue injuries are no fun, but it sure beats injuries to organs, etc. Thank God you are ok!

Good luck on getting back to 20 gm of carbs. This could be hard after your rest at you mom's, but if you ease into it, you might have less withdrawal symptoms.

Take care,

Welcome back, fire. So glad to hear you came out OK. Looking forward to seeing you around again, please take care and don't push yourself, emotional trauma can be quite unsettling.

Glad you're OK. Sounds like nothing short of a miracle! Love your Dickens quote, and also your Tigger picture. Reminds me of reading the Pooh series of books to my boys when they were little. Sigh......

Take care of yourself.
