Default Kemp's Heavy Whipping Cream - 0 carbs?

Hi all!

I use Kemp's brand of heavy whipping cream and I ran it through the carb calculator today and got a negative number! Now I know it has some carbs in it but how many?

Calories - 50
Fat - 6
Sat. Fat - 3
Carbs - 0
Protein - 0

I've been counting each tbsp as .4 carbs as specified in Dr. A's Carb Counter book. What should I do?

Thanks in advance!

I would stick to the 1 oz = 1 carb rule and you will do fine.

The only cream i can find is the reddi whip. Its in the spray can. It has a little less than 1 carb per 2tbspn. Is this the same type of whipped/whipping cream you all are talking about or should I find myself some of this Kemps Brand?

No! She's talking about the liquid whipping cream that comes in a carton.....pint or quart size. You know, the kind you whip up to make fresh whipped cream.

My problem swings the other way a little---that is, most liquid cream (heavy, whipping...it's all the same) is .5 carb per 1 tablespoon. But, Darigold brand, which is so cheap to purchase at Costco lists 1 gram carb per teaspoon......should'nt be a big deal, but when you're low carbing, 1/2 carb makes a difference!!!! I'm selfish with my carbs!!!

Oooo, I meant that Darigold lists 1 carb per TABLESPOON, not teaspoon.

And, my response of "No!" sounded so harsh when I reread it.....I didn't mean it that way!

Thanks for telling me. I have been using the reddi whip that comes in the can very sparingly. I will try to find the whipping cream you all are talking about and try it out. Thanks again!

The only problem with redi whip in the can is that it does contain sugars. Some people prefer to avoid sugars when ever possible because they trigger cravings and more insulin spikes.

You can buy the liquid kind and whip it up with a mixer, then add splenda or flavored syrups. After induction a great dessert involves whipping the heavy cream with some DiVincci syrup, a little riccotta cheese, and some berries. Low carb, healthy and soo darn nummy.

Darn it, there are times I miss dairy

It should be in the dairy section next to half and half and milk.

Called either heavy cream or heavy whipping cream.
