Just a quick hello. First day on Atkins. Looking forward to gaining some information from more experienced lo-carbers. I reckon that breakfast will be the hardest to change to lo carb. Damn those Cornflakes and damn the toast.......

Hi Notty, welcome to another Aussie!

You'll soon get used to a more substantial brekkie than the old cornflakes. Try not to have b & e too often - it gets old pretty quickly. I often plan leftovers, which are very convenient for breakfast.

The other thing I'd suggest is to think outside the box a little. If you feel like chicken and salad for b'fast - go for it. There's no law that says you must eat "breakfast food" for breakfast.

Check our Recipe section - there's a Breakfast Ideas forum there that should give you plenty of ideas.

And do have a good sticky around the rest of this great site. For instance, there's a lot of useful stuff on the orange bar at the top of the screen, especially "Low Carb Tips."

Cheers, matey.

Rosebud

Thanks muchly rosebud. I am extremely motivated, as is my wife. As in all things, I always listen to those with more experience or expertise than myself.

Pegva,

Wagga Wagga is on the far side of the country, a few hours by car from Sydney. Have been to Perth a few times, very nice place.....

You seem to be doing well on Atkins. I have just started (2 days) so cant really tell how things are going yet.

I am also a motorcycle fan. Have had road bikes all my adult life. I didnt put it in my profile as an interest, it is so natural I didnt even think of it. Good luck on the journey...
