Question Insulin Resistance Diet

I found out that I was insulin resistance about 2 months ago. My doctor told me to try S.Beach or Atkins (which I had done successfully about 2 years ago but got burnt out ) So I've been trying to go back low carb with very little success.Thursday she told me to try the Insulin Resistance diet but told me it was kind of hard, that's why she didn't tell me about it before. I've already read the 1st chapter on the linking and balancing and did pretty well today I think.
Is anyone else on this? If so, have you had success and do you have any tips for me? I have learned a lot about IR and really am anxious to get my butt in gear!
Thanks - Jen

Hi Jen
I was diagnosed with insulin resistance 10 months ago. My Dr. suggested the book-"Syndrome X"-I read it and made it my bible. It was much easier than the linking and balancing and they gave meal plans to follow. I have been able to loose 81 lbs so far and it has changed my life. I never had the hunger pangs and have had only 3 plateaus. I have gradually added 1 slice of low carb bread and 1 lo carb yogurt a day plus 2 very small servings of fruit and am still losing but at a slower rate. I'll be glad to help you in any way I can. I haven't found too many others with our problem!
The Best to You
Lynn

I'm a hypoglycemic, and doing fine on Insulin Resistance. I'm a turtle, no matter what my plan is, but my blood sugar is staying very stable on this plan. It is a little tricky to follow, since they don't give sample menus to follow. I made my own list of foods that are 30 g or less of carbs so that I can choose. I've been linking for a long time any way, so the balancing was new. I like it, and feel good.
