Default is it ok to have only trace ketosis?

Hi

I got onto LCing through my naturpath. He gave the run down and some ketosticks and told me to try to stay under the medium reading. He said that ideally I should be reading trace to small with small being the best. I have read a bit on this web site and everyone seems to want to be in the dark pink. Is it ok to be in the light pink. I am not losing as fast as I would like. Any advice?

Nadia

These sticks are an indication that you're burning fat - could be dietary fat or it could be body fat. So they're not an absolute indication of anything, except that you're not ingesting a lot of carbs. Whether or not the color matters - I don't think so. Most people only get to a dark color if they're dehydrated - which is not a good thing. I very rarely measured anything much higher than trace, but I'm still loosing weight. I've read here that being in ketosis is a little like being pregnant - you either are or you aren't.

I don't think the color really matters. I have went from light to heavy. It really depends on what I eat. When I eat just basic meats and veggies, I am in the high end. I know it isn't dehydration because I drink a gallon or more of water a day.

When I eat stuff with a lot of cheese or other stuff other than basic meat and veggies, I am on the lighter side.

Either way, I am losing. That is what is important
