Question crystal light

I have a question about Crystal Light. I have been in a weight loss stall for two weeks. This occured about the same time I started drinking C.L. I read on one of the boards that artificial sweetner can trick the body into thinking it is sugar and will not burn the fat in the way the diet is suppose to work. I don't know if the stall and the Crystal Light are related, because many people that I talk to who have done the diet since the 70's say it is okay to drink. And, secondly, if my body is using the artificial sugar instead of my body fat then why would my ketone strips still signal ketosis. I have read the Atkin's diet book several times but I find the information on artificial sweetners confusing.

Also, if C.L. is bad for me, does any one have a recipe for a drink similar in taste w/o a negative effect?

Artificial sweeteners are a YMMV thing (your mileage may vary). Many people are able to use them without any problem. For others and those with carb addiction problems, the it's the sweet TASTE that triggers the same insulin reaction in the body as if it was sugar. AS will not cause the blood sugar to rise, nor will the body use them for fuel, although the maltodextrin or dextrose filler often used in the powdered sweeteners ARE carbs and they can impact the blood sugar. Crystal Light may contain other potential stall ingredients besides the artificial sweeteners .. look for citric acid or citrate.

My suggestion is: don't go by someone else's experience. Only you will know if C.L. is causing your stall by stopping it for at least a couple of weeks. If your weight loss kicks in again, then you will know for sure it was the C.L. doing it.
