Smile Side dishes

I have a good handle on what to cook meat wise for dinner, but side dishes are troubling me. All the veggies I want are on the higher side of carbs (brussel sprouts, broccoli, etc).

I was looking for some ideas.

I know my fellow LC'ers out there can help me.

Suggestions?

Jeannot

You can still eat the higher carb veggies you mentioned, just be sure to watch the portion size. (I love brussel sprouts.) Spinach is yummy and low carb.

Deviled eggs make a good side dish!

Check out the recipe threads, too, and like klawerence said, don't forget to deduct the fiber.

I use a measuring cup now for all my veggies. I'm not sure what your taste is, but sauteed mushrooms with butter and a little lime or lemon juice is great with a nice steak!

some delicious side veggies could be...

roasted asparagus (drizzle asparagus with olive oil and salt, then roast) - leftovers are good for a snack too
mock mashed potatoes made with cauliflower
coleslaw (you can buy the preshredded cabbage but make the dressing yourself so no sugar)
assorted veggies such as zucchini, tomato, yellow squash mixed with mozzerella cubes and pesto
artichoke with lemon butter sauce

hope those might give you some ideas!
