Unhappy Gained Wt 1st WEEK??? PLEASE ADVISE

I am trying to loose weight and gain muscle. I am currently 225 and want to be 165 to 185 with low body fat.

Ive been doing Atkins and have lost about 65lbs. Last week was my first week on BFL. During my first week on BFL, I worked out 3 days with weightss for 60 minutes and did 30 minutes of aerobic exercise for 3 alternate days.

I increase my protein intake and am eating more often and keeping my calories in check.

After 1 week, I gained 5 lbs. I havent changed in inches, but i feel more buff. Should I be concerned... Is this normal? Is this temporary???

Anything else i couud do or not do??? Perhaps I can increase aerobic exercise to 1 hour 3 days a week???

PLEASE ADVISE!!!

1) Stop worrying :-)

2) Do not increase the aerobic stuff, try and stick to the 20 minutes of the BFL program, it is all you need. Increasing it could have the opposite effect.

3) Have patience, these things take time. Give your body time to get used to the program.

4) Try and stick to the times of the BFL, Upper is 46min and Lower is 42min if possible.

5) Enjoy.

It's normal to gain a little bit when you first start a different workout program, especially if the new program is more intense than the old. This is usually due to water retention in the muscles and is more obvious on a low carb diet than on the BFL "recommended" diet.

Stay with the program and things should progress within a week or two.

Default Thanks guys!!!

Thanks for your input... I just kind of freaked out because on Atkins i was acustomed to loosing about 2lbs a week, then all of the sudden I gain 5lbs.

Anyway... I will stick to the plan and pay attention to inches and so forth.

I feel terrrific, highly energized and motivated.

I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Thanks Again!!!
