Unhappy Starting Induction..... again

I was ready to post a message last night about how slow the weight is coming off for me on induction (3 wks / about 7 lbs). I decided to hold off and instead document everything I ate yesterday and check/ verify the carb content. It was a rude awakening. I thought I was well within 20 carbs and the reality was more like 40 (possibly higher). I hadn't been counting the carbs in things like string cheese and coffee.

This morning I started induction... again. I also created a daily log to carry around with me to make sure that I am tracking everything, don't have too much cheese or cream, etc. Since I'm committed to this WOE for the long haul, I figured that there are going to be lots of times in the course of my life when I'll be back in induction.

By the time we got to dinner tonight, I had 5 carbs left. Dinner was still pretty darn good (grilled steak w/ mushrooms).

Many years ago, a friend (pilot) once told me that flying was just a series of corrections until you get to your destination. I kept thinking about that today. In the past, I would have figured "Well I've blown it" and started induction on Monday (or more likely... proceeded with a carb binge for a few more weeks).

It really helps to know that I have so many wonderful and supportive friends here on the bb.

Thanks for being here

Hi Isis

Keeping track of the carbs can be tricky. Do make sure you are eating enough as well. You will need at least 2,000 calories at your current weight, so don't put your body into starvation mode as well.

Every success.

Documentation is so important! I am glad you have started. I couldn't have kept track so easily without fitday.com. It really helped me plan for the rest of the day.

Once you have done this for a few weeks, it almost becomes second nature. I look forward to watching your stats go down.
