Question Spagetti with Meat Sauce

Ok, I am going to do it. I am changing to CALP. I plan on my reward meals to be dinner. I like to make alot of 1 pot/pan meals that include rice or pasta. Will this be ok for my reward meal? I dont need desert, but it would sure make my life easier to eat with my kids again. Does anyone know if I can use the LC muffins for breakfast? I need to grab something to go in the morning due to being an habitual snooze alarm person

Default RE: Spaghetti Squash

Just curious as to whether you have considered trying Spaghetti Squash as an alternative to pasta... am attaching a link to a recipe

There is also a great Alfredo recipe at this site that I have used many times over Spaghetti Squash....

Smile Welcome!

Your plan of making your RM dinner sounds fine! Just be sure to get the CALP book and follow it to the letter-they say that you should start your RM with salad.......

I also chose this WOE because I can eat with my skinny (and very sweet) husband without making two meals!

Good luck!

So lets say I make spagetti with meat sauce. Should my plate be in thirds with noodles, sauce, and meat? This part confuses me!!!! Or can my plate be reasonable full of the meal mixed up?

Thanks for the great link!! I havent tried Spagetti Squash mainly because I like quick and easy meals for the week days. I work and when I get home I need something fast to prepare.

Your plate should be 1/3 craving reducing vegetables, 1/3 protein and 1/3 carbohydrate rich food. There should also be a salad in there too.

Read the CALP book before you begin or you may get into some kind of no good mischief!

Ok, so now I am confused again. My casserole type meals are not ok? I know I have to eat a small salad first. Here is an example of what I would have for a RM.
Small salad
Spagetti/w meat sauce
Water

Is this ok?

Or if my Kids cook....

Small salad
Hamburger Helper
Water

Any advice?

Lightbulb Add Veggie Side Dish

Barb-

Ok, I may not be the best person to answer your question, but since you are sounding a little discouraged, I will jump in.

Your meal sounds OK, if you add some Craving Reducing Vegetables to your dinner. Like keeping a ziplock of chopped up veggies for just this dilemma, have them with some dip along with your casserole meal.

I am switching gradually from CAD to CALP, because although I've been losing with CAD, I think CALP is more long term and nutritional.

Keep with it! CAD is a great way of life, no restrictions!

Dinner as your RM is soooo satisfying you'll love it!!!

I think I have it. My casserole meal equals 2 thirds and my craving reducing veggies 1 third. Am I right?

We had spaghetti and meat sauce last night...first I'd made it quite a while.

I really didn;t worry about this because I make my own sauce in the crock pot ( even with home grown/canned tomatoes ) but by the time I ate the required serving of salad before the pasta and sauce I could only manage a few small bites of the pasta and for the most part picked the meat chunks out of the sauce. I had some grapes for dessert...they are one of my true food passions.

Tonight it was oven baked flounder and potatoes o-brien with the salad of course. I was able to eat the fish portion and only a bite or two of the potatoes after my salad.

DH, on the other hand, ate a bowl of cheese curls before dinner...3 large pieces of fish, potatoes, salad and just finished off a huge banana split. Can we say " Hurl" ???
