A low carb bread will work, also you could try a big lettuce leaf, and wrap it around the burger.

Lo Carb bread is a great choice. I have eaten many a burger with a fork and not had bread at all. I can now smother my burger with bacon and cheese and don't need bread.

Post Juicy burger

When I order a really good burger with lots of stuff on it, I use large slices of not fully ripe beefsteak tomatoes to hold the top and bottom together. Since they are not fully ripe, they are firm enough to hold all of the good stuff together.

HTH,
Julie

HI
I haven't really tried the low carb breads...but one day, I had just bought some Low Carb tortillas (La Tortilla Factory, from Trader Joe's) And we stopped by In and Out Burgers. I ordered my burger with cheese "protein style" (where they wrap the meat in lettuce)....I just happened to have my newly purchased tortillas with me, so I tried it. Wasn't too bad...Although I got some strange looks... Not the real bun, to be sure, but did the job. But, if you're on induction, I wouldn't think of trying any bread alternatives....Just wrap it in lettuce, or eat it with a fork! After a while, you won't miss the bun. I just realized you don't have to worry about the induction thing since you're not on Atkins.....So, enjoy!
Peace, K.C.

There's a thread in the General Low-Carb section about In-N-Out Burgers. In-N-Out has a code for special burgers and some of them are low carb. Check out the list at:

http://www.topsecretrecipes.com/sleuth/sleuth2a.htm

It's fun and makes me want to go to In-N-Out for the low-carb friendly menu.

Default Alvarado St. Bakery

Alvarado St. Bakery makes sprouted grain hamburger and sausage rolls that are delicious and whole grain, with under 30 carbs each. So I use one half of those with my burgers and sausages. They can be purchased in the frozen section of many natural foods/gourmet stores.

I know this thread is old but I started making some mock hamburger buns out of eggs and sour cream/cheese cheese or ricotta cheese. They don't taste like much but they do a good job of holding the hamburger.

I had my first hamburger in ages. It was good
