Default skipping meals??

Hi everyone. I am entering into my third week on CAD. The last couple of days I have had a decrease in apetite (wow). Other CADers have mentioned experiencing this as well. The last two mornings I have skipped breakfast, today not eating until after1:00.

Is it okay to skip meals or will it mess things up?

Have people skipped meals and still lost?

Please let me know your thoughts. I am doing well on CAD and don't want to mess anything up!
Thanks all!

Talking My experience..

I don't have 'mealtime' anymore. I eat when I get hungry, that's it. I usually only eat two meals per day - a CM and an RM.

Average day:

12noon-1pm: Start CM
6pm-7pm: Start RM

I don't eat after my RM, and I still don't get hungry until around noon the next day.

I've had experience with forcing myself to eat because it's breakfast and I 'should' be eating (just makes me nauseus)- but now I trust my body. Now that I have fixed my insulin levels and am experiencing REAL hunger for a change, I don't worry if I am not hungry.

I for one have plenty of fat stores to call on.

My rate of inch loss is amazing. I lost nearly a foot in three weeks. As for 'pounds' on the scale, I've lost nearly 12 pounds in a little less than a month. It seems slower when you are in it, but looking at how far I've come in less than a month I realize that I am doing really well.

Now, if I AM hungry more often, which happens about once a week, I DO eat more. It's all about listening to your bodies signals - hunger, satiety, full, specific food desires.

I LOVE CAD. It's done amazing things with my insulin levels - I am having normal blood sugar levels for a non-diabetic person, and I have Impaired Glucose Tolerance (one step away from having diabetes).

I'm in the process of making alternatives to my old favorite junk foods - but it's taking a while. Not because I am a bad cook, but because I am not DRIVEN like I used to be. I can read recipes, shop through junk food aisles, see commercials on TV, even go to the movies without fighting desires for what I see/read/smell or hear about. It's truly a miracle.

I think that ALL of this combines to lead me to trust my body. I've 'fixed' it with CAD and a no-sugar lifestyle.

HTH

Melissa

Default 2 meals and still okay

I was off CAlp for awhile but now I'm back and find this time ,I only want 2 meals a day. I prefer breakfast and early dinner. But you can still lose with 3 meals as long as you follow the diet. I believe I read in the book also that you could skip a meal as long as it wasn't the Reward Meal. For those who do eat breakfast, I made the spice muffins from the CAD recipe section and found to enjoy this time using Arrowhead Mills soy flour. It didn't have the bad taste of the others. I have a journal if anyone would like to check out. Hope this helps someone. Wawtigress
