Question Fast food - the lesser of many evils?

Hi Everyone, I'm new to this lark - I've been on Atkins induction for just under 2 weeks.

My question at this point is a theoretical one.

Generally I prepare a luch to take to work with me, but I can forsee times when I'm working out of site and need to pick up something to eat on the run.

A lot of places I tend to work are populated with the normal fast food places such as KFC, McDonalds, Burger King, chip shops, kebab shops etc - but often no supermarkets or other healthier shops.

I know KFC is a big no no, but if I am forced to eat at one of these places, what are my best options?

I'm based in the UK and low carb menu's haven't filtered over here yet!

Any help would be gratefully received!

McD salads with grilled chicken or their burgers no bun or kethcup vs the breaded no croutons. BK burgers w/o kethcup and no bun, thinks they have salads too. If worse comes to worse have KFC but take the coating off. If you have a Wendy's same list. Wendy's has a 99 cents ceasar sald that I always get. Just no croutons, I usually eat 2 of those.

I go to McDonald's for their Chicken Ranch salad....yummy. The Chicken Caesar is also not a bad option. Of course, Burger King will now give you a Whopper with Cheese in a dish with a knife and fork so that's another idea.....in the US anyway; don't know why they wouldn't do it in the UK.

If I'm on the run, I'll go to McD's and get a Double Cheeseburger with no ketchup or onions, then I'll remove the bun. I'll drink water or a diet coke (I know its a no-no during induction ). Nonetheless, from what I can tell, it's only 2 carbs.

Their chicken salads with grilled chicken have 11 grams of carbs, and with crispy chicken its 20 grams. Not including the dressing, of course. Most of their dressings are 4 grams per 2oz pack.

Oh, I forgot to mention, Carls Jr. (Is Carl's Jr. in the UK?) has a protein burger which according to them, has 6 grams of carbs.

For you southern californians, you can go to In-n-Out and get a "protien burger" with 11 carbs.

No Wendys or Carls Jr over here...

So, McD's without ketchup or buns then! Is that the same for Burger King? I have a thing for their XL Bacon Double Cheeseburger!

Thanks for the suggestions folks, any more would still be grtefully received.

Well, the good news is that Burger King have now started doing takeaway salad bowls which are actually edible!

On an even happier note, I had my 5 week weigh in last night and have lost 23lb's in the 5 weeks since I started dieting!!!
