Question

Nitrites

I am not sure about nitrites - I guess that must be some sort of preservative for sausages and bacon? Is that true? How do you get these so they don't contain nitrites. Are nitrites BAD for you? Will they stop you from ketosis? What else has nitrites? Are there certain TERMS I should look out for in the grocery market?

Altho I am not an authority...LOL altho my hubby claims he is [ he is manager for a deli meat company] NITRITES with an I occur naturally in all meat and are fine to have. Its NITRATES with an A that can be added to keep some meats fresh that are bad for U.
