Question FitDay Question

Hello everyone,

i am just starting to use FitDay (in an effort to become more real about what i put in my mouth). i entered Flaxseed meal as a custom food and put in all the nutritional information. One serving (2 Tbsp) has 4 carbs but also 4 dietary fiber carbs. The dietary carbs can be subtracted, correct? But FitDay still calls it 4 carbs. Does FitDay not subtract the dietary fiber carbs? Which is fine, just so i know.

Thanks in advance for your responses.

Hi Kidee!

Fitday does subtract the total fiber for the day. If you look at the box where it gives you your percentages in the top middle of the page, fiber is listed directly under carbs. Unfortunately, you need to subtract the total fiber from the total carbs to get your ECC.

Usually if I enter in a custom food, I list the ECC instead of putting the fiber separately.

Flaxseed does have some carbs. You might want to look it up as to howmany.

Default FitDay

I just started Fitday as well. I've been using alot of heavy cream because I was going by the values on the carton that listed the carbs as 0. However, after entering my amount on Fitday it shows having 10g.
Anyone know the reason for this? I'm assuming that more than the usual servings (1-2T) means the carbs start entering in.
Thanks!

Yes heavy cream has carbs. If a product has up to 0.9g of carbs per serving they are allowed to put 0 carbs down. If you use alot of heavy cream it can really start to add up.
