Smile Just an observation, cardio

Hi everyone,
I don't check my heart rate when I do cardio but today I've noticed something. My pulse is usually extremely low like 40/min. It's been over 2 hrs since I did a morning jog and my heart rate is still more than DOUBLE the usual! When they say cardio boost your metabolism even several hours after, I guess this is what they mean.

Exercise is truly non-negotiable! Have a great weekend everyone, Rose

it took me a long time to realize that exercise wasn't an option, but you're so right! we don't deny ourselves food and water when we need it, so i wonder why i always made excuses for not exercising. now, i enjoy it. even if i only go for 1/2 an hour, it's truly an incredible feeling to get your heart rate up a little and move your limbs. i hope everyone finds something they can do for at least half an hour 3-4 times a week. it's life altering : ) thanks Rose for the reminder!

Exercise is optional. Glad you enjoy your cardio.

There is a growing body of evidence that cardio is not beneficial and can be down right un-healthful. Check out this post by Art De Vany that links to a Men’s Heath article titled “Death By Exercise”.

I'm curious as to what leads you to believe this continued elevation in HR is a *good* thing? The HR is supposed to fully recover in a specified amount of time after cardio exercise...it's measured in minutes, not hours.

Good Lord...I just saw that OP is from 2004. Sheesh. I really need to add the date as part of my scanning sequence of the OP's from now on!
