Default Fell Off, Fell Out, but Back with Determination

Hi, I'm Mary Ann. I'm one of the TDC people that dropped out of site never to be heard from again. (I did sign the pledge tonight) I have gotten so discouraged and tried every other diet imaginable out there and keep coming back to LC. I have found that if I eat LC then my ankles and legs don't swell. I was having pitting edema that would go to the first knuckle of my finger. Anyway, I have re-read Atkins a couple times, have been following many of the posts and have decided this is the only way to go. I know I am severly carb resistant and I just have to accept the fact that I won't loose as quick as others. I started back to induction 4 days ago and have cut my carbs down to 15. I think I detected some change in the keto sticks tonight, at least there is a trace. Well, I guess I have rambled on enough and I haven't entered in my journal tonight so best go do that.
It's good to be back.

Welcome back! Like you, I have tried everything else and LC is the only thing that makes me lose weight and feel healthy.

I checked your profile and noticed that we were born in the same decade. I think that as we get older, we just lose weight slower. Men seem to have a little easier time of it, but I haven't run into any middle-aged women on the forum who are fast losers. However, if you stick to it the weight really does come off. I have been doing this for almost a year and a half and I am closing in on 100 pounds off. I've lost the pounds one at a time, no whooshes, but they do add up.

Sometimes experimentation is needed to find what is best for us. I'm glad that you were able to find the best program for you (LC) and you're now dedicating yourself to it.

As Walt Disney once said, "If you can dream it, you can do it." Well, dream on.

Thanks everyone,
I never thought I would be checking my computer every morning before work just to hear from people. You are all so encouraging. I will hopefully be updating my journal this weekend with measurements, goals, and pictures. Somehow it makes us more accountable if we put it out there for the world to see. One thing I have learned in following this, even though not writing or following the WOL, I have watched as everyone starts coming out with pictures and really becoming a person on the other end with families that you are talking to. No more hiding behind an Avitar, you are a person.
One day at a time is all I can do.
Everyone have a Great Day!!

I was 43 when I started on Atkins (I'm 44 now). For the first 13 months my average was a little more than 10# a month, which was the same rate of loss I had when I was in my 20s and lost over 100# on WW. I think that's pretty fast for a middle-aged chick.
