Howdy Satihap...

The "hidden carb calculator" causes a great deal of confusion. It's main purpose in life is to do a bit of math so see if there are any calories in the product that are unaccounted for in the information given for carbs, protein, and fat. These can come from variouse sources, such as sugar alchols and glycerine, which used to not be reported on labels (they are now). I find the easiest thing to do is just do a quick bit of math myself. From my container of Keto blueberry hot cereal I see the following

Fat: 4g
Carbs: 12g
Protein: 17g

Now, we know how many calories each of these things should contribute to the total calorie content of the cereal

Fat 9 calories
Carbs 4 calories
Protein 4 calories

So, 9 x 4 (fat) + 12 X 4 (carbs) + 17 X 4 (Protein) = 152 calories

The label says 150 which tells us that all of the calories are reported and nothing is "hidden". The 2 calorie difference undoubtedly comes from rounding that is done for the label.

I probably just made this more confusing, but the gist is that the label on the cereal is just fine. 12 grams of carbs - 9 grams of fiber = 3 grams that need to be counted.

I've just started trying the different flavors of flaxomeal hot cereal. Got them at netrition.com for 6.99/pkg. 10 servings/pkg., 1-2 net carbs /serving for all the flavors. I was interested in uping the fiber content of my diet......and at 10-12 grams of fiber/ serving this product does pretty well. I want to check to see if I'm still in ketosis and that will be the deciding factor if I continue to use them.
good luck
