Question Being on a low-carb diet, Which foods do you miss the MOST?

I wasn't sure which forum to slap this in, so here we go. And I'd suggest NOT reading this topic if it'll make you start craving anything.

For me, I definitely miss spaghetti and meatsauce. Throw in some garlic bread and that was probably my favorite meal of all time.

Oh well, maybe one day. Many many many many many (Manyx100) moons from now.

I miss Tasti-D-Lite, a really yummy frozen treat chain in NYC. Made with frozen skim milk, a minimum of added sugar, and lactaid, to keep the tummy from upset. The flavors are really good (toasted marshmallow, peanut butter chocolate), and it tastes better than ice cream to me. I like it with rainbow sprinkles. I think, one of these days, I'll let myself have one. It's been a month!

Pizza, for the convenience factor -- I couldn't care less about the pizza itself, but I miss someone bringing me a hot meal that all I have to do is eat! As for the actual food, I miss sushi rolls and gyoza -- sashimi just isn't the same.

Nine months LCing, I don't really MISS any foods. As for your spaghetti and meat sauce, the closest approximation would be Keto spaghetti covered with a low-carb tomato sauce (w/ground beef or sausage thrown in). My non-LCing husband thought the Keto spaghetti "tasted like whole-wheat pasta." Not a bad reaction since we had a previous fiasco with "low-carb pasta."

Well, now that blondie617 posted while I was typing, it made me think. I do miss coffee heathbar ice cream and espresso chip ice cream. I have not been craving ice cream at all, my husband and four-year old daughter have been eating ice cream the whole time I've been LCing.

Potatoes...I can't find Daikon or Cauliflower in any of the Grochery stores around town. So, I haven't had a chance to try them.

Cherry Vanilla Ice Cream, potatoes and pastries (donuts, turnovers, etc.).

But.... even though I miss them (especially the ice cream) I can't say I'm really upset about it or obsess about it. The Atkins plan is so satisfying and I'm usually full, so I don't want anything else to eat.

Also, if I really am craving a sweet treat, my homemade whipped cream (made with heavy whipping cream, Splenda and a little vanilla extract) really hits the spot! Before Atkins, I never even KNEW homemade whipped cream is so good and I can whip up a single serving in just a couple minutes!

At this point I'm not missing too much, but when it gets hot out...
I'll be missing my popsicles! The red, white & blue 'Bomb Pops'/'Firecrackers' were my favorite!

I guess it's time to buy some molds and make some popsicles from sugar free Kool Aid or something like that.

Boy, so many people are being so pious with their protestations about not missing food! I'm shocked! I say, since this thread is only theoretical anyway, you are allowed to sin!

Well then, Pugzilla, if there are no carbs, they sound like legal sins to me! Go on ahead and SIN!
