Question hangover and binge

I was extremely (like not this bad in years) hungover on sunday and said f**k it. My DH, who is not on this woe/wol, and I ordered pizza and wings and fried cheese and cinnamon bread. I ate some of each, although only two pieces of pizza. I also had pasta for dinner and cookies for dessert. I haven't had a "blow out" cheat like that since I started this woe. Over the holidays I allowed myself, once a week a small cheat, but not a WHOLE DAY of it. Now I feel guilty, but not that much. I figure a big cheat every eight months is not the end of the world. I did have some (not overwhelming) cravings for the past few days and am up 2-3 pounds, which I hope will come off. I also decided, smirk, that I was "refeeding" for a day to see what happened. Not much. I think the weight will be off by the end of the week. Anyone else binge on a hangover???

Oh, yeah...2 weeks ago went drinking with friends, then boyfriend and I took them to dim sum the next morning...I decided to just give in and enjoy it! Also ate sugary baked goodies from a wonderful bakery later that day. Felt horrible the next day, but didn't gain any, in fact was down 7 pounds from the week before later that week. Sorta considered the cheat a refeed. Mainly I still want to enjoy life and not feel bad when i want to go off plan a little. This WOE is very easy for me (no bad cravings, etc.,) and I'm quite dedicated to fitness, so a little dumplings or cake once in a while is fine by me.

Well, no cheating *during* a hangover for me, but I just have no self-control when I'm drunk! A couple of nights ago I was celebrating a friend's birthday and got pretty toasted AND had a slice of cake, and man did I pay for it the next morning. It was kind of a synergistic combination -- alcohol hangover and carb hangover. I was worthless for the entire day. Not a pleasant experience, and I'm not doing that again in a hurry!

I went way overboard on New Years Eve, drank tons but didn't cheat during the night. After 10 hours of sleep, I woke up STILL drunk... it wouldn't go away! I ended up going to Burger King to get some fries and after a while the drunk feeling went away and the hangover came. Then I cheated a bit more though I couldn't keep much down anyway. Didn't gain or lose from it.

My theory of cheating when hungover is simply this-
your body is in so much pain you need anything that gives you a high. I use to wolf down carbs and especially chocolate ice cream when I was hungover. I was a sloth.

It takes extreme will for me to not to cheat when hungover. This is why I cut drinking down to one night a week.

Damn I'm gettin old.

Default When Drunk...

....do this: drink lots of water and take some potassium pills before going to bed. Oh yes, take 3 ibuprophin as well.

This makes a BIG difference in how you feel the next day.

I am soooo glad I'm not the only one! I think mine is a little worse though, I havnt been on this woe for as long as you ashley1. This is only my 3 wk, just got off of ind. period. I lost 12 lbs, prob. mostly water, but still happy about that. then the bad night came.....huge fight w/boyfriend I got depressed. everytime im depressed or lonely i eat. I ate 2 rice krispe treats and some gram crackers. the next day was a pot lock at work, you know it! cheese cake, pasta salad....all those bad carbs. i gained 3 lbs back. The good thing is that im back on it again. today i did real good...and i tried the pizza recipe finally, the one that was going around during super bowl time. It was awsome!
You're not alone ashley!
