Default Pizza Hut Buffalo Wings

Hello All,

I have a question? Are Pizza Hut Buffalo Wings Low Carb? I went to the web site and it says they have 0 carbs for mild and 4 carbs for hot. How reliable is this and why would there be a differnce in carbs amounts for chicken only?? I called and ask the manager and she said they come pre made and do not have any breading on them. I bought them and its looks as though there maybe something on them. Could someone who knows school me.. Or direct me to where I can get info...

Thanks in Advance.

Miss Rock

I've been eating the Pizza Hut wings for months now, and they have never been breaded. Every kind I buy it works out about 4 carbs a dozen.
I think in areas that offer the hot style the sauce might have some sugar in it. That would explain the difference in carbs. But I've gotten quite sensitive to sugar lately, and I don't taste it in the ones I get.

Thank you so much. I was not really breading, I was not sure what it was. I guess the sauce was sort of thick around the top. I am shocked Pizza Hut is not on the Low Carb Band Wagon advertising these..

Funny, that this post came up for me to see. I ordered some wings the other night. I swear to you , it appeared to have a "light" breading. Even my husband was like, hmmmm,
I just am not sure. So, I peeled the skin off of every single piece to be on the safe side.

Note to self. Let hubby cook them from now on. His are better anyway.

That is so odd about htem apearing to have breading because mine have never had that. It is possible tha thtey fry them before putting the sauce on them and thats why the skin is crisp. More importantly i have probably had these about 6 times since starting this WOL and I have never had a problem with them. YMMV.

Some peppers contain more carbs then others. It could be the sauce used has higher carb peppers. 4 carbs seems like a lot for a difference in peppers though. You'd think they'd put sugar in the mild since most think of those as being sweeter then the hot./

most wings are deep fried, but I believe pizzahut oven cooks theirs with the rest of their food. They have a couple carbs, but its for the full order, and most likely from the sauce. Smart and Final sells wing sauces and generally a few will have a carb or two per small serving, which will add up when all poured on, but in reality you're only having maybe 1/4th of the sauce thats poured on and the rest just filters onto the plate.
