Default Hopefully 50 lbs by July 4th..(Texas)

Hi....This is my third week of being on the Atkins..I started the Atkins way of life on January 17th....I have learned only to weigh myself once a week...My weigh in is on Friday's...I lost 15 lbs my first 3 weeks...Right now I've just started my fourth...I'm just now getting into this support group...Soooo much information...My goal is to loose a total of 50 lbs by the fourth of July...Of Course that is a big day for Americans....We are going back to my home town in Arkansas....and I really want to surprise everyone...Then my next goal is to reach 120 pounds by Christmas...That seems an eternity away...I am really motivated...I'm hoping not to stall this week...and if I do, not toget upset and quit...This is the first time that I have been this motivated in years....Good luck to everyone else too...cya all later....

Welcome! Sounds like you're doing great but keep in mind the body will not release the weight at 5 pounds a week all the time! Don't set yourself up for disappointment, keep doing what you're doing and you will reach your goal in a healthy fashion.
Good luck!

Welcome summer*rai! I'm a fellow Texan, I live in North Texas!
Glad to see another Texan...it makes one feel like Texas isn't such a biggggg place...*grin*

Good luck on your plan, don't let yourself get to fixated on numbers! This way of life is better looked at as feeling better, healthier and more energetic, with a side benefit of losing weight. If you find yourself getting overwhelmed with numbers, try mini goals....

Keep up your hard work....it will happen for you!

Hi and welcome! So glad to read of your success with this WOE already and I know you are going to do great.

You should realize though that there are realistic expectations on this WOE. Average loss during induction is 10% of the amount you wish to lose THEN 5% of the remaining weight to lose each month after.

You will see though that you lose inches faster then pounds lost sometimes so make sure you take measurements now.
