Default third try low carbing!

Hello all,
this will be the third time that I start low carbing. First time was mid seventies and I lost 30 pounds, second time in the late eighties and I lost 20 pounds.
I managed to gain it all back and a lot extra, the last 30 pounds in 3 months time because of medicines, and those pounds would not shift anymore.
I've had it and want to make sure I go through the rest of my life with a healthier weight, so I want to lose 100 pounds now, ah well, 85, for I managed to get rid of 15 in the past few months by on and off low carbing.
I really want to get serious now, am 53 and want to be able to walk and play with the dogs and keep up with my gardening and the home! I work at the computer all day, so that's not really helpful, of course, but when I'll be doing atkins again I will get back more energy anyway!
thanks for listening

Welcome back and it is good that you had past success with this WOE.

You may want to check out the Atkins site since I understand there are differences in the plan from earlier books.

All the best to you.

Hi willeke,

Welcome and congratulations on your loss so far You will find so much information here and the people and support are wonderful.
It took me over 25 years to find the proper way of eating and this seems to be MY ticket.
I wish you great success and hope to read more from you

Willeke - Welcome back to the wonderful world of Low Carbing, remember, its not a diet, but a way of life (WOL).

Have you considered starting a journal here in the forum so you can get all the support and advise from our senior low carbers?

Again, Welcome and I look forward to reading more of your post.

Default thanks for the welcome

I am impressed with the welcome messages, thank you very much! I will now try and find my way on this website and take a look at the journalling, because I think I may need some extra support in that direction!

Hello Willeke,

Another wonderful tool is www.fitday.com. There you can enter your food intake, activity level ect. This helps in keeping track of your carbs. The membership is free...so maybe you want to check it out as well

Feel free to check out my journal, mostly I write my foods eaten down and at times thoughts and worries

Have a great evening...Ireland is a few hours ahead from us here.

Mischa
