Default pine nut question for Karen

For this year's challenge with the Thanksgiving turkey, we are thinking of substituting chopped pine nuts for the waterchestnuts we usually put in our bread stuffing (we use Betty Lite bread at 4.5g carbs per slice). Could you advise whether the pine nuts will remain crunchy after being cooked in the bird the way waterchestnuts do?
Thanks so much

Hi goodnfast,

Alas, pine nuts will become soggy if they're cooked in the stuffind. I think almost any nut will.

If you want crunchy, stick with the water chestnuts.

Karen
