Hi there,
Yep, for me too.
I could be craving intensely some sweets, be it chocolates, ice cream, or apple pie, but once I go for a run, the cravings completely go away. Even if I were hungry before, the next 60 min or so after excercise, I don't feel any hunger what so ever.
Of course, eventually, my hunger returns and I eat quite a bit. It is interesting that regular excercise not only keeps us fit & healthy increasing the energy expenditure side of the equation, but also regulates our appetite. Clearly, I'd eat a lot more if I don't regularly excercise. For instance, for me, I require at the very least 3 or 4 hours after eating before engaging in vigorous physical excercise--and twice per day (running in the morning, then weights in the afternoon) that's 7 hours by default in which I can't eat. Combine that with the natural appetite supression after excercise, and food intake just about regulates itself.
Kind of hard to binge if one is on any kind of regular excercise regimen.
However, I'm not sure the "scientific" reasons on why appetite tends to be surpressed after excercise.
Kind of curious about that,
Frederick
