Default sugarfree jello

I started Akins Diet two weeks ago. The first week I lost 5 pounds
and the start of the second week I lost two more pounds . I than
started eating sugarfree gelatin jello and I haven't lose any weight since. (The jello does have any carbs) If it is the jello that
has stalled my weight loss how can I get back on track I have stopped eating the jello for now. Could that be my problem and if so what can I have for dessert.

It is very common to have a post induction stall, mine lasted three weeks. Your body is taking the time to reassess things. Dont worry it will pass I would like to suggest that you take your measurments at this time. While the scale was stalled the inches were flying off!

yea, i had that same problem so now i'm really trying to stay far away from sf jello.
It contains aspartame. Aspartame is a sweetener but it is considered to stall you if you eat more than 3 servings of it daily.
Cut the aspartame out of your diet and your weight loss will continue. Good luck!

The sf jello may be sweetened with aspartame. Aspartame causes stalls in some people, that is why aspartame is not encouraged on Atkins. What you could do instead of aspartame-sweetened jello is to either purchase readymade jello that has been sweetened w/Splenda (brand is Jolly Rancher) or to make your own Splenda Jello (following Skamito's/Angela's recipe):

2 packets of Knox unflavored gelatin
1 packet of Kool-Aid flavoring (unsweetened)
8-10 packets (16-20 teaspoons granulated) Splenda to taste
1 cup hot water
1 cup cold water

You can use a variety of flavors because of the amount of Kool-Aid flavors. Happy LCing!

Does anyone know what stores carry the Jolly Rancher brand jello? I don't recall seeing it anywhere... (unless I just didn't pay any attention to it before- I'm normally not much of jello eater)

How does the "homemade" Splenda jello turn out? Just like the real stuff?

kc766, if you have a local health food store or LC specialty store, they might know. That's how I found out, from a local LC specialty store, the proprietor told me that the readymade stuff was ONLY sold by one chain in my area. I doubt it's a big chain. The Acme Supermarkets. The Splenda jello turns out like the real stuff because the Knox unflavored gelatine thickens the Kool-Aid/Splenda liquid.

Thumbs up Yummy recipe!

Thanks, Paradise, for the delicious recipe. It sounds fabulous and I'll try it this week. Woo hoo! I agree with the others, it is hard to find Jolly Rancher. I'll seek out the nutrition stores and see if they have it. Is Jully Rancher the same name as in the hard candies?
Hugs, Annie-Pie

Anybody ever try a Splenda soda in jello? Wonder if it makes a sparkling gelatine?

kc766,

I have found the Jolly Rancher brand at Super Walmart and Albertsons. 3gs of carbs per serving and too me, a very artificial taste. The flavors were just too extreme for me. I know there are many people who like it. Luckily, SF Jello has not made me stall. I like the flavors and texture better than the Jolly Rancher.

Annie-Pie, yes, I believe the Jolly Rancher name is the same as the candies.

That's a great idea - to add Diet Rite! I love the White Grape Diet flavor.

(I never would have thought I could get so excited about jello! )

Cool

Cool...Diet Rite and Knox? Who ever woulda thoughta it! Thanks, everyone, for all your wonderul ideas! When I fix it, do I boil the water and the Diet Rite? Does the Diet Rite take the place of the water???

Now the silly question of the day: Does Diet Rite have aspartame? I read here that it can slow down our weight loss.

Diet Rite is made with Spendla and should not stall your weight loss. The problem with artificial sweetner for some people is that it may cause cravings.

You would heat the water to disolve the gelitan and then add COLD diet rite to it for the thickening.
