Default Brown Bag Field Trip

I'm going on a field trip this Friday with my daughter's first grade class. Lunch is to be a brown bag.

Just what does one put in a brown bag that is LC and won't spoil? Boiled eggs, string cheese, celery?

Any YUMMY thoughts would be great.

Does it have to be a brown paper bag?

I have a softside cooler that I pack my lunch in. It's not like the igloo hard plastic things. It's tall and narrow but big enough to pack some drinks, sandwiches, snacks. Pretty light weight as well.

If you have one of those then you could pack chicken or tuna salad, snacks, some water and add an icepack to keep everything cool.

Yes, I actually have to bring a brown bag because since the kids have to I have to. Kinda makes things limited - guess I'll have to eat a nice big breakfast and do peanut butter and celery.

Hmmmmm..................

Ugh.

Okay. You could pack some pepperoni slices or sticks, celery with peanut butter or cream cheese, cheese sticks, boiled eggs, tin of sardines or tuna fish, olives (black or green), salad with an oil type dressing in a seperate container.....

Shoot that almost sounds like a chef salad!

Smile My fake sandwich

I like to squash deli turkey, mayo, and sprouts in between two sturdy pieces of cheese, Meunster and Provolone are my favorites. Cheese is my new bread! This can be thrown in a zip lock bag just like a sandwich and holds up nicely. You could actually also make a salad and put it in a plastic container with an individual packet of dressing.

You really have more choices than you might imagine. Hope you find something good!
