Angry Chick peas... the root of all evil

So I made the decision to go low carb... just started today, joined Atkins and this forum for support and information...
I go to the salad bar for lunch and get:
lettuce, shredded carrots, a few black olives, a hard boiled egg and top it off with some ranch dressing.
I knew the dressing would be horrendous (nutritionally), but was shocked at the amount of carbs in the chick peas! It brough my luch carb count from 8g to 28g! (I tally up my nutritional values on another site).
I thnk I had like 1/2 cup or something.
I later realized that chick peas are not to be eaten during induction.

Just wanted to vent.

But I do have questions:
1. Can I eat carrotes during induction?
2. I had about 2 tbs of random ranch dressing that was at the salad bar, how bad do you think that is?
3. I feel full from lunch and bought myself some baby carrots and allouette cheese spread as a snack... I'm beginning to think this was not a good idea... (yes no?)
and 4. I got mozzarella sting cheese. Can I have that?

Does and Atkins for Dummies book exist?!
lol

If you subtract the fiber from the carbs, it may not seem AS bad.... but no good for induction. I avoid carrots like the plague, and a definite no on induction. Try celery, radishes or peppers.

Hey, don't beat yourself up. We all make little mistakes. As far as induction goes, I don't believe you can eat carrots.(very high in sugar) But I would definitely go to the top of this page and check on lo carb tips.....or better yet, BUY AND READ THE BOOK!

Hang in there, it will get easier.

1. No to carrots on induction. I stay away from them regardless.
2.Most likely the ranch was fine. Was it full fat? That is better for this WOE. Choose bleu cheese, Ranch, caeser (full fat) and you should be fine. I also use just oil and vinegar.
3.No to the carrots and read the label on the cheese. On induction stay away from processed cheeses. Maybe save that for after induction
4.The string cheese should be ok
