Question Are you ever not hungry?

Most days I get hungry and I eat, but today I haven't been hungry at all. I've actually had to force myself to eat, and I've only had 1300 calories. Normally I eat around 1800 calories. I don't feel sick or anything. What do you do if you're not hungry?

Yes, this happens--usually when I'm getting plenty of fat. If I start getting the munchies, I know my fat intake isn't high enough. Most days I can put away 1800 calories, but sometimes that's hard to do.

Happens to me too if I've had enough fat aswell. I'll complety miss lunch and not notice I did till dinner comes rolling along. On days I have less fat though, I'm constantly hungry.

Try to remind yourself to eat at least 3 meals each day. Even if you don't feel "hungry", your body needs those feedings. If you skip meals or delay them too much, your body will be sending visions of carby things before you feel actual hunger. And that's when you are likely to go off plan - when the hunger actually hits.

Be prepared.

I agree. There are days when I don't feel at all hungry, and getting motivated to make anything, even the simplest items, is just too much effort! I'm not in the mood. I haven't traced it to eating enough fat or not, but I do find the urge to eat just isn't there.

That said, I agree that eating to a schedule is your best option for now. I think it takes a while for you to adjust your habits, and I'm told that your body eventually gets to a point where it will tell you that it's feeding time... haven't got there yet. I'd quite happily miss lunch if I didn't stick to a schedule!

Good luck. I know how hard it is to cram something down when you just don't feel like it... I suggest rich sauces to bring up the calorie intake...

I had that happen to me in the beginning, but not lately!!! I wish I was feeling less hungry than I am!

I agree with the others, though. You ought to still feed yourself even when you are not hungry and it is time for a meal! Keeps your body working on burning that fat away!

I add olive oil, butter, avacados, coconut oil, and so on. I don't eat much nuts because it's hard to keep in portion control, though I do go through sever nut butter craving binges. I also try to limit cheese.

For me adding oils to foods keeps it moist, adds flavor and ups the fat count

Mayo is also great. It's pretty much pure fat. If you are adventurous it is extreamly easy to make at home and you can experiment with different oils and acids for different tastes. It is also guerenteed sugar free that way.

It happens at times. I believe in eating when I'm hungry, so if I'm not very hungry some days I just eat less. My body will let me know what I need.
