Default Have you lost more/faster since giving up coffee?

I am wondering if those of you who have lost very slowly, stalled a lot.....are noticing more weight loss since giving up coffee?

I have 2 cups of regular (yes I know, It's supposed to be decaf)......with cream in the morning.

I am just curious if you have tried to quit coffee and if it helped before I wean myself off.

Thanks!
Natascha

This is a good question--I'm interested to hear what replies you get for my own benefit (sorry! ). I have a big mug of coffee (not decaf) every morning and sometimes in the evening as a 'snack'. I've been seriously considering getting some decaf next grocery shop. Okay, I definitely think I'm going to try decaf I'll let you know if there's a difference (I've been stuck for 3+ weeks!)

I never gave up my huge mug of coffee with cream in the morning and thankfully never stalled from it.

I have 2 mugs of regular coffee every morning with heavy cream and Davinci syrup. It has not inhibited my weight loss compared to not having caffeine. Of course, YMMV. Take care!

I have 2 big cups of regular coffee everyday with 1T. cream and 1/2 a sweetn'low in each and it hasn't kept me out of ketosis. I did try to give up coffee when I started atkins. I lasted about 3 months, but I missed it too much. I love having something warm in the morning and the caffeine gave my workout the kick that it needs. Maybe just switch to decaf at night...

I was drinking about 2 cups a day for a long time, then I didn't have any the last 2 weeks... my weight loss actually slowed down instead of speeding up. who knows!

My favorite part of the day is in the morning when I make my Starbuck's French Roast, mixed with 1/2 cup of Hood Carb Countdown milk, and 2 packets of Splenda. It has never stalled me.

I didn't give up my regular coffee during induction. After about 2 weeks, I began waking up wanting water instead of coffee. I didn't see any difference in the weight loss. This morning, I wanted a cup of coffee but made a cup of hot green tea instead. My problem with coffee is that I don't stop once I start drinking it. I'll realize that half the day is gone and I've only drank coffee, no water.

Ya, I don't get the whole no coffee thing - so many diet supplements have caffine or green tea extract in them (or other stimulants) even atkins only diet supplements (certain ones) have caffine in them. I personally don't give a lot of merit to the no real coffee thing.

Have a cup or two and enjoy, I say!

I've enjoyed two mugs of black gourmet coffee every morning from day one. The one time I had more than that was a day when I drank four mugs of the stuff. The next day I showed a two lb loss. I'd like to think it broke my stall.

I think the coffee thing is that if you're not used to caffeine it can make your blood sugar drop percipitiously and make you hungry. However, probably most of us have been drinking caffeine long enough we don't get that happening.

In fact, I think my metabolism would probably stop if I didn't drink coffee.

Wheph! What a relief! I will continue to have my 2 cups of regular coffee in the AM. With a 2 year old who still doesn't sleep thru the night on most nights.....I NEED the caffeine!!!

Thanks!

I was not a coffee drinker really before this WOL, only when it was cold out which is not very often in South Florida. Coffee became a wake up habbit and then I drank less and less water, so I also had loss of appeteite and wasn't eating properly.. For me coffee is a big problem. It really stinks cause I grew to like it very much.. But as for this lady, coffee is out!!!!
