Default Time magazine Low Carb issue

I don't know if any one read this past week's TIME magazine about low carbing or not. It still may be available on news stands or at least in the library. The articles are postive twoards low carbing in general and it credits Atkins for beginning the low carb revolution. However they do say that low fat/low carb is the way to go.

Dr. A is ok with low-fat/low-carb..and I quote..

DANDR part 5 , the "Dr. Atkins and I" menu

...many of the recipes are loaded with butter, cream, and egg yolks. This
might give you the misleading impression that that's what I want you to eat
all the time, which is not the case. Unless you are on the special Fat
Fast, eating lean foods is quite appropriate.

I don't have my book with me but there is another part that says something like, I want you to be shockingly unafraid of eating fat. Fat in the absence of excessive carbohydrates can not make you fat.

True, The body needs insulin to store any kind of fat. low-carb = no (very low) insulin = can't store fat !!!

In "adiposity 101" http://www.omen.com/adipos.html) there is a qote from Iliya.
"Without insulin fat will not be stored in
any appreciable amounts. This is confirmed by my own (and a few
others) experience where I would eat 5000 calories per day and not
gain weight, as long as I didn't have any carbs and didn't allow
myself to slip into deep ketosis. (I am right now probably around
175lbs, so 5000 calories per day for me on a continous basis is a
lot). "
