Default thoughtful poem

I finally accessed my company's Employee Assistance Plan. Lori is a wonderful counselor. I thought I would share a poem she gave to me, that I re-read often in considering my choices and outcomes in life. I hope some find the same insight and enjoyment in it that I do, each time I re-read it.

THERE'S a HOLE in my SIDEWALK
An Autobiography in Five Chapters

by Portia Nelson

Chapter One

I walk down the street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I fall in.
I am lost...I am helpless.
It isn't my fault!
It takes forever to find a way out.

Chapter Two

I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I pretend I don't see it.
I fall in again.
But, it isn't my fault.
It still takes a long time to get out.

Chapter Three

I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I see it is there.
I still fall in...it's a habit...but, my eyes are open.
I know where I am.
It is my fault.
I get out immediately.

Chapter Four

I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I walk around it.

Chapter Five

I walk down a different street.

Default Low Carb Wine and Good Friends

Um...I sent d**kwad's kiss-off email to a bestest friend of mine, with my reply attached. Said good friend was at my door within one hour with a bottle of wine. She said there are times when one must kiss one's body problems goodbye and welcome some mental holiday time. You have to love gal-pals like that. We had a good talk, trashed him royally, did a bunch of teacher talk (she works with me) had a SMALL bottle of wine between the two of us, and I feel much better LOL. Sometimes the size of my mental health is more important than the size of my butt...hiccup...and LOL.
Hey, at least I fessed up! Besides isn't dry white wine low carb Hiccup...times two!
