Default Light Mike's Hard Lemonade!

I don't know if you saw the Vancouver Sun or where else this was in the paper, but today they had an article announcing a new Mike's Hard Lemonade with ... drum roll please... 1 carb, 76 calories, and 4% alcohol (vs 7% of the original) per bottle. They said that it has been 2 years in development and should be in the stores for the long weekend. Personally, I have missed the odd treat like Mike's.
In any case, I thought some of you might be interested as this and light/lc beers were discussed a few months back with much discussion. I'll keep you posted when I try it. If anyone beats me to it, drop a line please.

Would be a nice summer treat. I'm not a big drinker so doesn't affect me much but it would be nice once in a while.

Hm, sounds interesting....
I go off beer sometimes during the summer, and I like one or two Mikes (makes my tummy hurt if I have too many).

I will keep my eyes open for this...

I read on a website that Mike's Light is 2g carbs. Either way, 1 or 2g isn't bad.

Yum-yum, yum-yum!

4% alcohol; 1 g carb, 76 cal per bottle.

But, you could probably make an absolutely identical drink using diet 7-Up and vodka.

Mike's does have aspartame, but also sucralose.

Overall: great to pick up for convenience if you're going to a party. At home, save yourself some money and make coolers yourself.

I bought some last night. We are having friends over tonight and I get tired of diet pop and rum.... The price was good I think $8.95.. Between this and Pure Source Light.. I am set for the summer...

WEll we have had it here for about a month, so I thought I'd try it last night, now I was never big on the regular Mikes, but this stuff to me is

My sons opinion as well, glad I only bought one bottle.

I'll stick to my vodka or gin , in a nice tall glass of diet pink grapefruit pop now there is a nice drink!!

Well, I tried it too. A bit disapointing. Not much taste, but as someone lese said above, if we were heading out to a BBQ or whatever, I would take them along possibly. At least these companies are trying to create something for the LC lifestyle. Hope you are all enjoying this beautiful Victoria Day weekend.

Well, it's pouring down rain here in SW Ontario, but I hope you have nice barbecing/LC-drinks weather out there.

I wonder how the Light Mike's will compare to Light Source, a similar sugar-free lemonade-type vodka drink.

Hey, I haven't heard of "Light Source". Has it been around long? How good is it? Thanks

Light source isn't available here yet in Winnipeg but the Mike's Light is here and I do like it. A friend of mine said she could taste the aspartame but I guess I don't mind aspartame anymore.

My daughter brought me some "light source' from Toronto at Xmas. I was excited to try them. I wouldn't buy them. Pretty bad.
We went to Penticton for the long weekend, and waitress's in a bar there were wearing T-shirts advertising "Mike's hard lemonade" with only 1 carb. Not quite the same as the regular ones, but pretty good. I WILL definitely look for them in our liquor store. I don't know why they lowered the alchohol content?
Coolers are my downfall. I don't like hard liquor, and I must confess, I do have coolers when we go out. Hence my gain, since our heat wave has come.

I picked up some Light Source and Mikes Light in Mississauga recently, the Mike's is definately the better tasting of the two.
